Cheryl Ann Floyd, our beloved daughter, mother, sister, aunt, and friend, joined the angels on Saturday, October 10, one day after her 65th birthday. Our dear, sweet Cheryl had a blessed journey home with loved ones by her side at her daughter and son-in-law’s home in Sherman, Texas.
Cheryl was born at her grandparent’s family farm in Cedar Vale on October 9, 1950, and lived the majority of her life in the Cedar Vale and Winfield area. Cheryl graduated from Cedar Vale High School class of 1969. She married John Floyd on October 27, 1969. Cheryl was a mother and homemaker.
Cheryl devoted her life to others. After raising her precious daughter, Cheryl answered her calling to take care of the elderly. After John’s passing, Cheryl spent the last six years as a foster grandparent at Lowell Elementary for the 1st grade. Cheryl delighted in working with Kayla Kinder, the staff at Lowell, her “kids”, and took great pride in all of the children’s accomplishments.
Cheryl was so very happy when she gained a son with her daughter’s marriage to Tom Linnebur on June 2, 1990. Tom and Lisa were devoted to Cheryl and loved her greatly.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her husband John, sister Hazel Myree Call, grandparents Edward and Sadie Zemp, Elmer and Anna Call, her beloved Uncle Charlie Zemp, beloved step-father Frank Isbell, aunt and uncle Leon and Anna Wilkinson, and uncles Walter Zemp, Harold Call and Carl Klusmeyer,
Cheryl’s kind and gentle spirit will be greatly missed by her family; but, they rejoice in knowing that she is with our Lord and loved ones who have gone before her. Cheryl is survived by her daughter Lisa Linnebur, son-in-law Tom Linnebur, mother Mildred Isbell, father Bill Call, sister Beverly Webb and brother-in-law Gregg Webb, nephew Eric Webb and wife Marilyn, niece Samantha Brown and husband Judson, great-nieces Grace and Georgia Brown, great-nephew Billy Dazey, aunts Betty Klusmeyer and Nadine Zemp, special cousins Marvin and Carline Wilkinson, cousins Dwight Zemp, Arlene Cromwell, Dean Zemp, and Marilyn Roberts, and other loved relatives.
Cremation will take place in Sherman, Texas. A Celebration of Life will be held in Winfield at First Baptist Church on Monday, November 23, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. with graveside services and burial at 2:00 p.m. at the Cedar Vale Cemetery.
