Carl was born in a log cabin on December 21, 1909 outside of Spaulding, Oklahoma the son of Thomas and Bertha (Cain) Cahill. He spent his childhood and early adulthood in Hodenville. He graduated from HHS in 1929. Carl served his country during WWII aboard the USS Catoctin as a Radar and Radio man. He and his wife Maxine McCurry of Wetumka lived in Holdenville, Wetumka and Denison, TX where their son, Phil, was born and where he was employed by the US Corps of Engineers as a surveyor and later in management positions. He moved his family to Fort Worth, TX in 1950 and retired there in 1969 when he and Maxine had a house built in Denison, TX. Carl was living at the Renaissance in Sherman, TX before moving to Haltom City in October 2009.
Carl is survived by his son, Phil Cahill and his wife Sheila of Haltom City, TX and a granddaughter Michelle Cahill. He was preceded in death by his parents, and 2 sisters, Floy Winningham and Rhea Horn.
