In the early 1980's I was a very young scenic artist working for Miami Stagecraft when I met Norman. At that time he was on the stage crew at Dade County Auditorium, I would go there to touch up the opera sets. For many years I was the only female working on the scenery side of stage and film in Miami. Norman went out of his way to be sure I was treated with respect, and set a tone of acceptance for me with the rest of the crews.  His kindness, and more than a little humor, made him one of my favorites on any job. Norman was one of the special ones in the unions, I always knew that he looked out for me on any job we found ourselves on together, and it might be a lighter day because he was in the mix. 

To you his family, I hope he will live on in your memories with warmth and humor.

To Norman, rest in peace old friend.

Norman was one of the first people I met in the Motion Picture industry.  I was working at " Unique Producers Service" in the early 80's.

Norman taught me a lot about lighting equipment use in the industry.  At Unique, we had access to all of what was the state of the art equipment at the time.  At that time many in the industry were very protective of trade secrets and not so free to share information.

Not Norman, he was happy to share his knowledge and experience and with the new kid at a time when it was hard to gain access to the industry.  He helped me learn to operate arc lamps, which helped me get out of the shop to occasionally to work in the field.

It was not all work. I remember one day Norman and I found an old John boat in one corner of the shop and an out board motor in another. We decided it would be a good idea to put the two together and go for a ride in the lake behind the shop. This was far from a good idea, we flipped the boat over and had to swim back. Everyone watching got a good laugh at our expense!

R.,I,P Uncle Norman . You will always be in heart and will truly be missed . We shared the same birthday and I will always treasure that,

Norman was a gift I was given.. From the day we met we became family.  We greeted each other with a big hug and cheek kiss.. 
if I told him I had to take my dog to the vet, Norman would call me to ask how the dog was.. If I mentioned something about anything from my car to a lack of sleep he would call to check up on me…
I will miss my Norman but he will Always be in my heart..He was a special man who though a quiet man always let you know you were loved❤️..You were always loved back my dear friend.. RIP and enjoy your wife.
