Ludovic "Don" Landry

DELCAMBRE – A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Mr. Ludivoc “Don” Landry, age 75, at 10:00 am Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. Fr. Herb Bennerfield will be the celebrant. Mr. Landry will be laid to rest with his dear wife Loretta at Our Lady of the Lake Mausoleum.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at Evangeline Funeral Home of Delcambre on Monday from 9:00 am until 10:00 pm, with the Rosary at 7:00 pm. The funeral home will reopen on Tuesday from 8:00 am until 9:30 am.

A native and resident of Delcambre, Mr. Landry passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 14, 2012 at his residence with his family at his side.

Mr. Landry, known to family and friends as Don, was a retired production foreman with Kerr-McGee with over 25 years of service in the oilfield.

He enjoyed the outdoors, especially being on his tractor and taking care of the cattle, carpentry work and anything else that was needed. He was a generous and kind man who will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his children, Tina L. Broussard and husband Joseph ”Joey” of Delcambre, Timothy Landry and wife Jeanette of Abbeville, Terri A. Landry of Delcambre, Tammy Dupre and husband Joseph “Joe” of Lafayette, and Tara Landry and husband Wayne Hebert of Lafayette; grandchildren, Tiffany Faulk and husband Jonathan, Lauren Broussard Clark and husband Tommy, Matthew Broussard, Regan Broussard, Jonathon Broussard, Nicholas Broussard, Allison Broussard, Dustin Landry, Zachary Landry, Shaely Landry, Bren Landry, and Julia Landry; a great granddaughter, Kennedi Faulk; and his sister, Barbara L. Picard of Maurice.

He was preceded in death by wife of 46 years, Loretta Bernard Landry; parents, Ollie and Bernadette Saunier Landry; a sister, Catherine Richard; and brother, Richard “Dickie” Landry.

Pallbearers will be Matthew, Jonathon and Nicholas Broussard, and Dustin, Zachary and Bren Landry.
