Josephine Derise Miguez

DELCAMBRE – A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted for Mrs. Eugene “Bobby” Miguez, the former Josephine Derise, age 87, at 3:00 pm Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with Fr. Herb Bennerfield officiating. Interment will follow at Our Lady of the Lake Mausoleum.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm on Wednesday at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church.

A native of Jefferson Island and resident of Delcambre, Mrs. Miguez passed away at 8:30 pm on Sunday, June 23, 2013 at Maison de Lafayette.

Mrs. Miguez was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, St. Anne’s Ladies Auxiliary and the Delcambre Shrimp Festival Associaiton.

She is survived by two sons, Douglas Miguez and wife Brenda of Youngsville; Don Miguez and wife Kathy of Delcambre; two daughters, Jennifer Miguez White and husband Michael of Maurice and Bonnie Miguez Tharp and husband Gary of Youngsville; ten grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; two brothers, Grady Derise and Wilbert Derise and two sisters, Leona “PeeWee” Broussard and Dorothy “Dot” Choplin and her special care giver, Krista Viator.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene “Bobby” Miguez; parents, Domnique and Stella LeMaire Derise; one brother, John Derise and three sisters, Louise Landry, Mildred Falgout and Janese LeBlanc.

Pallbearers will be Dominique Miguez, Billy Miguez, Luke White, Brooks Dartez, Katom Miguez, Eric Mautner and Jude Delcambre.

Honorary pallbearers will be Collin Delcambre, Collin Poirier, Cooper Miguez, Chase Delcambre and Coleman Miguez.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the Staff of Maison de Lafayette and Paramount Hospice.
