DELCAMBRE – A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted for Mr. Jerry James Viator, age 81, at 2:00 pm Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with Fr. William Schambough officiating. Interment will follow at Our Lady of the Lake Mausoleum with military services by Vermilion Parish Honor Guard.
Visitation will be held from 12:30 pm until service time on Wednesday with a Rosary at 1:00 pm at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church.
A native and resident of Delcambre, Mr. Viator passed away at 3:30 am on Monday, June 6, 2016 at AMG Park Place at Our Lady of Lourdes.
Mr. Viator was a Veteran of the US Army, who served his country honorably during the Korean Conflict. He was employed with Texaco and retired after 43 years of service. He was a member of WOW and Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, where he served as an usher for 30 years.
Mr. Viator was a very spiritual man, who was always concerned about his family. He will be missed dearly by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Betsy Trahan Viator of Delcambre; one son, Jude A. Viator and his wife Angel Dooley Viator and two grandsons, JonMichael Jude Viator and Quinn Anthony Viator all of Lafayette.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Felix and Aline Bonin Viator; one brother, Edward Viator and one sister, RoseMary Viator Broussard.
Pallbearers will be Jon Michael Jude Viator, Quinn Anthony Viator, Jared Trahan, Dale Dooley, Corey Viator and Benny Migues.
Memorial donations may be made in his name to Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 206 West Church Street, Delcambre, LA 70528.
