Jeanne Nell was born December 4, 1933 in Delcambre to the late Fred Hebert and the late Jeanne LeBlanc Hebert, raised in a family steeped in Cajun heritage, faith, and love for family. She worked with the Iberia Parish School Board and spent her entire 25 year career serving “her children” as she called them in the cafeteria of Delcambre Elementary. Not wanting to sit still, after her retirement she went to work at Pam’s Hair Hut washing hair for the clients, and as a dispatcher with the Delcambre Police Department.
Her faith was unwavering as was her love for her family and friendship to anyone she met. She had a genuine love of people and never met a person she didn’t like. We will miss her sweet smile but rejoice in knowing that she is not gone, only gone on before us. Rest well Jeanne Nell. We love you.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Catherine Marie Pullin and Fred Anthony Landry; four grandchildren, Nicholas Pullin, Noah Pullin, Khye Bourque and Hunter Landry; five great grandchildren, Eli Pullin, Camille Pullin, Hudson Pullin, Landon Pullin and Emma Claire Pullin; and her sisters and brother, Lenora Bell Hebert, Eloise Langham and Huey Fred Hebert.
Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her son, Robert Keith Landry; granddaughter, Jeanne Claire Pullin; and brother, Davey Lee Hebert.
A memorial Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Jeanne Nell’s life will be held at 10:30 am Friday, June 2, 2023 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with Fr. Daniel Picard as celebrant. Following the mass, she will be laid to rest with her son Robert at LeBlanc Cemetery.
