DELCAMBRE –A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted for Chris Jean Landry, age 58, at 2:00 pm Friday, November 14, 2014 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with Fr. Nathan Comeaux officiating and Fr. Tom Voorhies serving as con celebrant. Interment will be held at Migues Cemetery in Delcambre.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Thursday with a Rosary at 7:00 pm. The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 am on Friday until service time.
A native of Delcambre and resident of Lafayette, Chris passed away on Monday, November 10, 2014 at his residence.
Chris was a huge fan of LSU football and was so excited and proud that his son, Luke would be attending LSU upon graduating. He enjoyed spending time with Luke, especially at the LSU games, where they spent their last time together this past Saturday night for the LSU-BAMA game. Chris was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed duck hunting from a young age with his brothers and friends, skeet shooting and spending time outdoors with his beloved black lab “Ray Ray”. Chris was a member of Promise Keepers Men’s Ministry.
Those who knew him best knew him to have a witty character and deep convictions about politics and patriotism. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends.
He is survived by his son, Luke Paul Landry and Luke’s mother, Sharon Westerberg of Maurepas; his mother, Verly Bourque Landry of Delcambre; three sisters, Cynthia LeBlanc of Delcambre; Adelaide “Del” Currier of Gonzalez and Bridget L. Touchet and husband Greg of Delcambre; two brothers, Scott P. Landry and wife Nina of Erath and Ross J. Landry and wife Christine of Youngsville and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his Father, Elton “Buck” Landry,one brother, Todd Louis Landry and his brother in law, Dennis LeBlanc.
Pallbearers will be Jacob Landry, Matthew Landry, Noah Touchet, Grant Currier, John LeBlanc and Andrew Mims.
Honorary pallbearers will be his brothers, Scott P. Landry and Ross J. Landry.
