Brittney Jaide Migues, our loving daughter and sweet angel, gently closed her eyes to this earthly life and entered into her eternal glory Saturday, September 3, 2022, surrounded by love with her family. At her passing she was 37.
Brittney, lovingly known as BJ or Beej, was born June 10, 1985 in Lafayette, the only daughter of Benny Joseph Migues and Sandy Delcambre Migues, and was raised in her beloved community of Delcambre. She was a proud graduate and alumni of Delcambre High School and remained loyal to her alma mater throughout the years. As a friend and volunteer of DHS, Brittney gave her undying support and love to the Panthers and its sports programs. Her family shared how she often gave her opinion and advice to the faculty and coaches and helped with the planning of events for the school. No task was too big for BJ when it came down to helping better the school and its sports programs. BJ never missed a football, baseball, softball, basketball or volleyball game and even traveled to the away games to cheer her team on. She was truly the #1 fan of the orange and black. As a huge sports fan, she also cheered on the Ragin Cajuns, LSU Tigers and the Saints. Benny remembered the trip Brittney and her family took to Omaha, Nebraska to watch her beloved Panther’s play. On this same trip BJ, her family and a big Delcambre group got to also attend the College World Series there and luckily got to watch the LSU Tigers play all the way to the championship game.
Brittney was clearly a very outgoing person and loved being around family and friends. Everyone reminisced about how organized she was and how she kept everyone straight. She planned parties, events and made sure that special occasions such as birthdays and anniversaries were remembered and celebrated. Sandy and Benny shared the great times they had visiting her favorite vacation destination of Orange Beach, Alabama (as you guessed it, organized by BJ). Every year BJ booked the family vacation at Phoenix West for a week of fun in the sun. As that week came to a close, she booked the next year’s vacation on the spot.
BJ loved life and had the best of times with family and friends. Whether it was a game of bourre’, or sitting down to her favorite meal of boiled crawfish with her dad pealing while she ate, she enjoyed herself. She was loved and pampered by her personal hair stylists and make up crew, Kallie Moneaux, Shandi Comeaux, Ashlee Vincent Broussard and Sam Duhon who came to her aid when she was ready to go somewhere. She had a smile that would light up any room and a beautiful heart full of love for everyone. She was truly an angel here on earth. In our hearts she is not gone, only gone on before us. We will certainly miss her, but will keep her close in our hearts and thoughts to ensure that her legacy lives on. Rest well Brittney for we will be reunited one day. We love you.
Those left to cherish her memory are her parents, Benny and Sandy Delcambre Migues; her aunts and uncles, Rosslyn Delcambre, Sammy Delcambre (Annette), Rodney Credeur (Jo Ann), Janora Arceneaux (Keith) and Jed Migues (her bourre’ buddy); her God parents, Darren Credeur and Brandy Dore’; three God children, Adelyn Deville, Elliana Dore’ and Karter Menard; a host of cousins; and a community of friends who will miss her dearly.
BJ was preceded in death by her brothers, Luke and Lorne Migues; her grandparents, Sonny and Rella Migues and Samuel and Lailda Delcambre; and her aunts, Phyllis Credeur, “Janny” (Georgiana) Delcambre and Lea Broussard.
