DELCAMBRE – Funeral Services will be conducted for Mr. Anthony Arceneaux, age 90, at 2:00 pm Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with Fr. Herb Bennerfield officiating. Interment will be held at Our Lady of the Lake Church Mausoleum.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Tuesday with a Rosary at 7:00 pm. The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 am on Wednesday and remain open until service time.
A native of Vermilion Parish and resident of Delcambre, Mr.Arceneaux passed away at 1:50 pm on Sunday, December 16, 2012 at AMG Specialty Hospital in Lafayette.
Mr. Arceneaux was a WWII Army veteran who earned a purple heart for his service in the invasion of Normandy. He enjoyed gardening, camping, cooking and raising rabbits. He will be greatly missed by everyone who loved him.
He is survived by his son, Terry Arceneaux and wife Susan of Delcambre; daughter, Ruth Weekly and husband Emick of Delcambre; grandchildren, Kevin Arceneaux and wife Crystal of Delcambre, Anita Meadows and husband Don of Vero Beach, Florida, Roxanne Sonnier and husband Greg of Lake Charles; step-grandchildren, Eric Bowen and wife Dora of Delcambre, Brent Bowen of Delcambre; great-granchildren, Caleb Arceneaux, Kali Arceneaux, Autumn Meadows, Trey Meadows, Gavin Sonnier and six great-step grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Delta Mae Robicheaux Arceneaux; parents, Joseph and Marie Arceneaux; granddaughter, Starr Weekly; step-grandson, Matthew Bowen, one brother and six sisters.
Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.
