

Susan Marie Lopez May 22, 1951 - December 23, 2010 Susan passed away December 23, 2010 at the age of 59, she was born May 21, 1951 in Bakersfield, CA to Leonard and Lorraine Cardoza Lopez. She grew up in Delano, CA and attended St. Mary's Catholic School thru 8th grade. She graduated from Delano High School in 1969 and attended Bakersfield Jr. College for 2 years before starting her career with Pacific Bell in Los Angeles, CA., where she was a program analyst in Trunk assignment for 17 years. Due to health issues associated with diabetes she retired in 1994 and resided in El Monte until June of 2010 when she decided to relocate to Bakersfield to be closer to her family. Susan is survived by sisters, Olivia Lopez of El Monte, CA, Connie and husband Angele Vega of Bakersfield, and Rebecca Lopez of Palm Desert, CA; nieces and nephew, Elizabeth Dodd and fiancee Cel Celestino of Bakersfield, Alicia and Jose Uribe of Bakersfield, Marissa and Kenneth Carson of Riverside, CA., Steve Perez of Phoenix, AZ., and Stephanie Viray of El Monte, CA. Also left to cherish her memory are 11 great nieces and nephews, 1 great-great nephew, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Susan was preceded in death by her parents Leonard and Lorraine Lopez. We would like to thank Dean's Care Villas owners John and Sally Nobleza, Tess, Orlando, and Mei Ling for all the loving care and kindness they extended to our sister for the three and a half months she lived at their board and care home. Also thank you to Fanni Lift Transportation owners, Tammy and Bill Fanning for getting Susan to her Dr. appointments and dialysis, to Get-A-Lift, especially Karri and to the wonderful FMC dialysis unit at Liberty Park Drive, Dr. Stiles and Dr. Kamath. God bless you all and all the Kaiser Doctors and Dr. Bui who attended to Susan's medical needs. Visitation will be held Thursday, December 30, 2010 from 7:30am to 8:30am at Delano Mortuary. Rosary will begin at 9:00am at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Mass at 9:30am. Susan was a wonderful, caring, and giving sister, aunt, and friend who loved life and enjoyed everyday she shared with family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all of us who knew and loved her.
