Ruperta Tomate, is known to loved ones and friends, as “Perta”.
On September 16, she had a lively conversation with her grandson, nurse assistant, and nurse, had dinner, and fell asleep. It was then she gained her wings and went to heaven after 94 years on this earth.
Perta was born in Leyte Philippines and moved to Manila during World War II. Then after marriage in 1948, she lived in Richgrove and Delano, farm labor and in Cambridge Filters before retiring. In those years, she participated in Filipino Community, Catholic Associations, Fil-Am Senior Citizen, and Philippine Weekend activities enjoying cooking her special dishes full of flavor and love.
Perta passing is preceded by her husband, Abdon Tomate, and daughter, Rosalie Tomate.
She is survived by Theresa Hamidzada, daughter; Ali Hamidzada, son-in-law; Sohaila Hamidzada, granddaughter; Faheem Hamidzada, grandson; Kiyah Hamidzada, granddaughter-in-law; Aria Hamidzada, great grandson; Dominador Tomate, son; Placida Tomate, daughter-in-law; Aleyna Besmer, granddaughter; Matthew Besmer, grandson-in-law; Ashton Besmer, great-grandson; Violet Besmer, great-granddaughter; Timothy Besmer, great-grandson; Eliza Besmer, great-granddaughter; Christino Tomate, grandson; Marybeth Tomate, granddaughter-in-law; Ryden Tomate, great grandson.
Pallbearers include Matthew Besmer, Ashton Besmer, Jaythen Peralta, Faheem Hamidzada, Ryden Tomate, Greg Donato, and Christino Tomate.
