Mr. Modesto Ogas Garcia

Modesto O. Garcia, 89 of McFarland, California passed away on December 28, 2010 in Delano, California. Modesto was born on June 15, 1921 in Gila, New Mexico. Modesto was a retired Aeronautics Production lead man. Modesto is survived by: Modesto M. Garcia, son of McFarland, CA., Refugio M. Garcia, son of La Verne, CA., Priscilla G. Stanchev, daughter of Delano, Ca., Barbra Taylor, daughter of Banning, CA., Richard M. Garcia, son of Kirkland, Wa., Gilbert M. Garcia, son, of Bakersfield, CA., Rudy M. Garcia, son, of Norwalk, CA., Helen Devilbliss, daughter, of Moreno Valley, Ca., Angie Smith, daughter, Bakersfield, CA., and 36 Grandchildren and 68 Great-Grandchildren.

Modesto was preceded in death by: Esther M. Garcia, wife, McFarland, CA., Frank M. Garcia, McFarland, CA., Guadalupe G. Coca, Phoenix, AZ., Jimmy M. Garcia, McFarland, CA., and Derrick G. Smith of Bakersfield, CA.

Services will be as follows: Friday, January 7, 2011 viewing from 4-6 p.m. and Rosary at 6:00 p.m. at Delano Mortuary Chapel. Christian Mass, Saturday, January 8, 2011 at 8:00 a.m. at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church in Delano, California. Final resting place will be at North Kern District Cemetery in Delano, California.

Pallbearers will be: David Smith, Gabriel Garcia, Giovanni Danzardi, Kyle Smith, Matthew Garcia, Michael Garcia, Randy Smith and Ruben Garcia. Presiding clergy will be Father Rick Fierros. Mr. Modesto O. Garcia was a World War II Army Veteran and a fifty year member of the United Auto Workers Union.
