Leona Dorothy Compton

Leona Dorothy Compton, age 95, of Delano, California passed away on Saturday, January 2, 2021. Leona was born December 21, 1925 in Porterville, California to Sadie Elizabeth Peacock and Carl Emil Peterson.

Leona is survived by daughter Marilyn Cowley; and daughter Michelle Compton; granddaughter Deborah Abitago, granddaughter Jennifer Nored, grandson Matthew Compton, grandson Allen Cowley, great grandson Stephen Nored, great grandson Joshua Cornil, great grandson Alexander Cornil, great grandson Joseph Abitago, great granddaughter Natalie Cowley, great grandson Nick Cowley, great-great granddaughter Natalie Nored, great-great grandson Ryan Nored and great-great granddaughter Malaya Cornil.

Leona was preceded in death by her husband Harold Compton Jr.; son Larry Compton and daughter Diane Nored; father Carl Emil Peterson and mother Sadie Elizabeth Peacock; sister Lorene Peterson; sister Evelyn Gruver and brother Clarence Peterson.

Leona also leaves behind many nieces and nephews to cherish her memories.

A visitation for Leona will be held Wednesday, January 27, 2021 from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Delano Mortuary, 707 Browning Rd., Delano, CA 93215. A chapel service will occur Wednesday, January 27, 2021 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM, 707 Browning Rd., Delano, CA 93215. A committal service will occur Wednesday, January 27, 2021 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at Porterville Cemetery, 1013 E Olive Ave., Porterville, CA 93257. A burial will occur Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at Porterville Cemetery, 1013 E Olive Ave., Porterville, CA 93257.

Serving as pallbearers are Matthew Compton, Stephen Nored, Alexander Cornil, Joseph Abitago and Noel Abitago.
