Harry “Douglas” Gross, 73, of Delano died peacefully after a brief illness at Rosewood Springs in Visalia, Ca on April 15th 2019. Doug was born on July 14th 1945 in Delano, Ca. The son of Roland Harry Gross and and Imogene Nelly Pruitt. Doug was an avid photographer and musician, a treasure hunter and adventurer. Doug was also a skilled maintenance and electrician before retiring from the Delano Growers.
Doug was survived by his wife of 53 years, Judy Gross of Delano, Ca. Doug had two kids, son-Roland (Karen) Gross of Pixley, Ca. and daughter-Crystal (Kenn) McCloud of Bakersfield, Ca. Grandfather of four to Leann, Troy and Logan Gross and Caden McCloud. Doug was the oldest of six and survived by sisters Dian (Dale) of Havasu, Az; Betty Stain of Visalia, Ca; Mary (John) Hornback of Louisville, Tn; Loretta (Vernon) Wallis of Pixley, Ca; and Brother to Bill Gross of Bakersfield, Ca.
A celebration of Doug’s life will take place Friday, May 3rd 2019 at Delano Mortuary 707 Browning Rd followed by Graveside procession North Kern Cemetery 627 Austin St & Albany. Reception will be held at the Delano American Legion 729 Kensington St.
Doug was a family man and friend to all. Known for his kindness, humor, and healing spirit.
He’d always leave you saying, “Glad you got to see me”.
You will be missed Doug, you were one of a kind.
