He is joining our Angel, Yazmin, his daughter in our eternal resting place.
Gerry was born and raised in Malabon, Philippines. He migrated at an early age to Guam and eventually made his way to California in his early twenties. It is in San Francisco, where he fell in love and married his wife, Lita and raised a family in Delano, Ca. Gerry did everything for his family. At one point he worked 3 jobs to provide a good life for his wife and daughter. He was not only a great family man, he was a great brother, a "cool" Uncle and a loyal and dependable friend. He loved to cook, dance, watch movies, where he has a collection of over 2,000 DVDs and listen to music rockin' his Bose and his love for travel brought him and his family to many different countries and yearly to Hawaii and the Philippines, his two favorite vacation spots. Gerry received several MVP awards for being a great Basketball Player and was a loyal Laker fan.
Gerry was the epitome of "cool." He rocked the Miami Vice look; white jacket, loafers with no socks, huge sunglasses even before Don Johnson. He will be remembered as kind hearted, generous and the jokester of the family and amongst the "barkada" whom he teased relentlessly.
He enjoyed life to the fullest and loved deeply and we take comfort in knowing that he is now at peace with our creator.
