Benito Castro Martinez

He attended Fremont Elementary School in grades Kindergarten through 6th; Cecil Avenue Jr High School; and Delano High School grades 9 through 12th. He also, attended Technical College for 2 years.

In 1990, Benny married Shanette Beaird. To that union they welcomed 2 sons, Jamal B. Martinez and Benito C. Martinez, Jr.

Benny was employed as both a farm laborer and security guard for several years of his life; until health challenges lead him into early retirement.

Benny LOVED SPORTS!!!! His favorite teams included: The Rams, Lakers, Dodgers, and his College team, the Oklahoma Sooners. He could sit and watch sports all day (which he did) with his mother-in-law, Doni.

Benny was preceded in death by his grandparents: Luciano and Adela Castro; his parents: Lidia Castro Jimenez and Everardo Martinez; brothers: Salvador, Henry, and Richard; niece: Tina Pasillas; and nephew: Joaquin Crespo; as well as other family members.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Shanette Martinez; son Jamal and daughter-in-law Mayra Martinez; son Benito Martinez, Jr.; grandchildren: Kaedyn, Davian, and Arielle Martinez; sisters: Elvia Lazo and Leticia Barraza; brother: Luciano Crespo; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws, and a host of friends.

Benny, we will miss your humor, friendship, and unconditional love, always. Until we see you again.
