Shirley Kay Goforth Lassiter, 78, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2024. She was born November 9, 1945 in OKC, OK to Luella Goforth. She was the first of her siblings to be born in a hospital. She married the love of her life, John Lassiter, on September 3, 1965. She is preceded in death by her mother, Luella Goforth; siblings, Wilma Goforth, Sue Moore and Don Goforth; mother-in-law, Margaret Lassiter; and father-in-law, Johnnie Lassiter.
In 1963, Shirley was named Junior Miss of Midwest City. Her passion for life led her to sporting events, dancing, and skiing the mountains of Colorado. She was extremely creative and enjoyed many hobbies such as cooking, painting, sewing and cake decorating.
Shirley was an educator for over 20 years. She taught GED classes to soldiers at Ft. Riley. She was an English teacher for five years before becoming a Principal. She retired as the Senior Principal at Moore High School in 2004. Her love for her students is unmeasurable, and her legacy will continue for generations to come.
She is survived by her husband, John Douglas Lassiter; daughter Shonda Lassiter; grandson Ty Lassiter; brother Gary Goforth and wife Lynn; nephews Ryan Goforth, Chris Goforth (wife Lauren) and their three children; brother-in-law Michael Lassiter (wife Mary); nephews Mickey Lassiter and his two children, Bryan Lassiter (wife Arlene) and their three children; David Moore and his family; and niece Robyn Kinard and her family.

Visitation for Shirley will be from 4-8pm Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home in Del City, OK. Funeral services will be at 2pm Thursday, March 7, 2024 at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home.
