Ruth Elizabeth DeMeritt

Ruth Elizabeth (Gorman) DeMeritt, 89, passed away June 8, 2012. She was born March 14, 1923 in Tonkawa, OK to William L. and Mae Elizabeth (White) Gorman. Ruth enjoyed sewing, crosswords puzzles and watching Jeopardy and The Wheel of Fortune; she also loved to play scrabble. She enjoyed her flower garden and her time with her family. She was a proud grandparent and cherished every moment she spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She made the best banana cake and cherry pie. Ruth was a devout Christian and was a member of the Methodist Church. She is survived by her children, Patty Whitehead (Larry), Regina Anderson (Mike); grandchildren, Danny, Steve and Craig Whitehead, Andrea Ash, Keisha, Juli and J.C. King and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 71 years, Wayne Leon DeMeritt, 3 sisters and 3 brothers. Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at Bill Eisenhour Southeast Chapel with interment to follow at Sunny Lane Cemetery, Del City.
