Peggy Lou Oakley was born in Byng, Oklahoma on November 9, 1932. She passed away on Sunday June 19, 2022 in Midwest City, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her parents Herbert and Jewell Winters, Brother Roy Loyle Winters, Sister Norma Cheek, Son Glenn Tucker, daughter Jeanna Holly. She is survived by brother Kenneth Winters of Ada Oklahoma, Grandson Devon Tucker and his wife Paula of Collinsville, Oklahoma, Granddaughter Megan Haddock and husband Cory of Bixby, Oklahoma, Granddaughter Ashlye Goodner and husband Robert of Virginia, 5 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She was loved by all and will be missed.
Peggy was an original charter member of Alethia Temple Pentecostal Holiness Church which later became Liberty Christian Church where she attended and was a Sunday school teacher for many years.
Peggy worked at Tinker Air Force base as a civilian civil service employee in the Printing Department. She and her daughter Jeanna also opened a small children’s boutique called Klassy Kids in Midwest City.
Peggy was very active and volunteered her time in several different areas she also worked at the local voting poll places during elections.
Peggy enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She had 3.lifelong friends whom she grew up with in Ada Marge Blume, Bobby Wayne Gray, and Amelia Branscum. The ladies would travel to California once a year to spend time with Marge. Peggy played on a competitive women’s basketball team for years. She was an avid skipbo card player along with bingo. She also loved collecting depression glass, a great garage sale and could never pass up a good bargain.
She made the best cakes, coconut pies and chicken and noodles anyone ever had.
The family would like to say a special thanks to Vicky Phillips for getting MawMaw to all of her appointments, be it beauty, Doctor or where ever she needed to go Vicky was there to help and we greatly appreciate this.
Peggy was loved by all and will be missed, this is not a final good bye, she is rejoicing in the streets of heaven and we will see you again.
Funeral services are Thursday, June 30, 2022 at 12pm, at Arlington Memory Gardens, 3400 North Midwest Blvd, Oklahoma City, Ok.
