In 1939, Lois met and married the love of her life, Ernest Wooten. Together they built a beautiful life, raising their beloved daughter, Linda. They shared 57 wonderful years of marriage until Ernest’s passing in 1997. Lois was also blessed with a close and loving relationship with her sister, Louise, who was not only her sibling but her best friend.
In 1947, Lois and Ernest moved from Texas to Oklahoma, where Ernest enjoyed a long and successful career as a firefighter at Tinker Air Force Base, while Lois dedicated 25 years as a cafeteria manager at Kerr Junior High in Del City. After retirement, she pursued her love of art, a passion that brought her great joy.
Lois was a kind, compassionate, and selfless woman who always put others before herself. She loved her family deeply and was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. A devoted Christian, Lois served her Lord in many ways, including teaching Sunday school and giving generously. One of the greatest blessings of her long life was witnessing the birth of the fifth generation of her family, her precious twin great-great-granddaughters.
Though she will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in knowing she is now at peace in the presence of her Savior.
Lois was preceded in death by her infant stillborn twin sons, her parents, her husband, her sister, her brother-in-law, and her son-in-law.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Forrester; her granddaughters, Shelley Moore (Joe) and Jennifer Forrester (Jenna Jeffords); her great-grandsons, Calvin and Josh Moore; and her twin great-great-granddaughters, Peyton and Jordyn. She is also survived by her nieces, Jan Marcrum (Jeff) and Mandy Fulton-Hutchison (Richard); her nephew, Jimmy Fulton (Jessica); as well as Bella Fulton, Kaylee Chaghtai (Ali), and Azalea Chaghtai.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated care staff and friends at Oklahoma Palliative & Hospice Care and Wellington Park Senior Living for the love and compassion they showed Lois in her final years.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Lois's honor to Mission Mid-Del c/o Meadowood Baptist Church.
A visitation for Lois will be held Sunday, February 9, 2025 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home at Sunny Lane Cemetery, 4000 SE 29th Street, Del City, OK 73115.
