Linda grew up and lived in the Del City and Midwest City area for many years. She was a graduate of Midwest City High school class of 1966.
She was married to Bobby Hill until his death in 2010. Linda and Bobby met each other at church and shared a great love for the Lord. Bobby was by her side during her battle with breast cancer. She is a breast cancer survivor and eventually required a kidney transplant. She felt very blessed to have the opportunity to be a recipient of a new kidney. Linda even had a name for her new kidney, "Gertrude."
After Bobby's death, Linda moved to Chattanooga Tennessee. She felt it was time to come back home after living in Tennessee for 5 years. She eventually moved back to Oklahoma City and attended Putnam City Baptist church.
Later in life, Linda was fortunate enough to meet a wonderful friend and partner , Kenneth Wayne (KW) Carmichael. During their time together, they have enjoyed traveling and spending time together.
After 17 years, "Gertrude" started to slow down and Linda was ready to go be in the presence of the Lord.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bobby Hill; sister, Nancy Callaway; son, Raymond Albert Duke.
She is survived by her partner, KW Carmichael; daughter, Candace Duke; step-son, Robert Hill; sister Margaret Horning; brother, Randy Little; grandchildren; Amber, Angela, Ava, Gavin and Reid; niece; Mindia Hawthorne ;nephew; Sean Callaway as well as great grandchildren.
A memorial service to celebrate Linda's life will be held from 4:00-6:00 pm at Sunny Lane Funeral Home located at 4000 SE 29th St, Del City, Graveside services will be 10:00 am, Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at Sunny Lane Cemetery.
