Kay spent her young life growing up in Brohman, MI. Growing up, she heard many times of her mother’s fight and determination to win her battle with polio. This imprinted her with the same grit that would serve her for the rest of her life. At the age of 18, she moved to Nebraska with her mom and dad, where she was introduced into the world of working for a living. She held various positions from elevator and telephone switch board operators, to assembly line manufacturing. In 1973 while working at a factory building storm windows, she met the love of her life. She always said it was love at first sight. On Feb. 14, 1976 her dream of marriage to her true love changed her name to Mrs. Kay Lorraine Willcox. Life was turned upside down for Kay as she found herself married to the military; this new partnership separated her from her family for the first time as she moved overseas to Germany. She always said it was one of the best things that ever happened to her because it taught her an independence that served her for life. Twenty years later she settled into a life of stability without the worry of reassignment. With kids and grandkids living in the area she was determined to stay here in the Oklahoma City area. She asked that birthday and holiday celebrations be held at her house to provide lasting memories for each of her children and grandchildren. Following her diagnosis, of cancer in Dec. 2005, she entered into the fight she refused to give up on. Her determination blessed us with many more years until her death Dec. 27, 2012. Kay was preceded in death by her parents, Lester Orville and Ruth Vivian Keith. Kay is survived by 5 children: Virginia Willcox, Kathleen Leonard, Michael Willcox, Vivian Willcox, and Charles Willcox. 10 grandchildren: Lena Shoup, Kayla Shoup, Christopher Shoup, Frederick Shoup, Nicholas Willcox, Nathan Boone, Bradley Boone, Lauryn Willcox, Brandon Boone, and Emma Willcox, and her beloved husband, Daniel Willcox. She is also survived by her siblings: Donna Krontz, Donald Keith, Daniel Keith (Shirley), Dora Parker, and Vivian Harder (Roger).
