Her career began as a cosmetologist/beautician, she worked with her husband, Dwayne at their grocery store, enjoyed working as a bookkeeper for a local travel agency and started her own purse making business. In her spare time Judy enjoyed reading, being outdoors with nature, sewing, oil-painting, and traveling in the states and abroad with a special fondness for Switzerland.
Judy was a member of The Order of the Eastern Star for over 55 years and was a Worthy Grand Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star in 2009. She was also an active member of Amaranth and Beauceant.
She is survived by two children: Nona Lemley and husband Bill, and Connie Fields; four grandchildren: Jared Lemley and wife Lindsey, Courtney Dawson and husband Micah, Jacob Lemley, Daniel Fields and fiancée Jodi Haley; one great-grandchild: Carter Dawson; one sibling: Pam Roberts; sister-in-law: Phyllis Herrin and husband Marvin, brother-in-law: Ken Dixon and wife Gwena; uncle-in-law: Carl Dixon and wife Mary; four nephews: Bryan Herrin and wife Amy, Brady Herrin and wife Natalie, Shane Dixon, Rusty Dixon and wife Kristi; six great nephews: Hendrix Herrin, Baden Herrin, Remy Herrin, Lennox Herrin, Anders Herrin, Hunter Dixon; one great niece: Ember Dixon and many other extended family and friends.
Judy was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years: Dwayne Dixon, mother: Betty L Stevenson; step-father: William W Stevenson; son-in-law: Mark Fields; nephew: Andy Dixon
In lieu of flowers the family requests a donation be made to the American Diabetes Association in Judy’s name.
