Johnny Russell Miller, beloved son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, great-great grandfather, uncle and friend, was welcomed into the loving arms of his Heavenly Father on Monday, March 21, 2011. ‘Jay’ was born on December 26, 1922 to Ethel Bryant Miller and Lee Paullus Miller in Kendrick, Okla. He was a 1940 graduate of Crooked Oak High School in Oklahoma City and served his country from May 1944 to March 1946 in the U.S. Army 21st Bombardment Squadron, 501st Bombardment Group. He devoted over 30 years of his life as an inspector on B-52 airplanes at Tinker Air Force Base. At age 57, he enjoyed a long retirement basking in fresh air and sunshine while spending most of his spare time camping, fishing, bird hunting and gardening. Jay was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 61 years, Lily Lucille Meyers. He is survived by three children, Luvella Jean Teague and husband Joe, Janelle Miller, Jim R. Miller and wife LaDonna; five grandsons, 10 great grandchildren and one great-great grand-daughter; three brothers and one sister all residents of Del City, Irven Miller, Willard Miller and Lonnie Miller and Veda Girod, and many nieces and nephews. Our sincere appreciation goes out to the nurses and aides of Sommerset Assisted Living and Moore Regional Hospital along with our relatives who helped in caring for our dad.

Formal visitation for family and friends will be from 7pm to 9pm on Thursday, March 24, 20ll at Sunny Lane Funeral Home. His service will be at 2pm, Friday, March 25, 2011 at the Sunny Lane Chapel with interment following at Sunny Lane Cemetery.
