John L. Pendley

John L. Pendley, age 92, of Stigler, Oklahoma passed away on Saturday, December 2, 2023. He was born on August 14, 1931 in Green Forest, Arkansas. He grew up in Del City, Oklahoma and attended the Sooner School in Del City, graduating in 1949. After retiring from the military, he worked as a school bus driver and as a truck driver. John was an excellent cook, and loved to participate in the annual Whole Hog Day which takes place every July in Eufaula, OK.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ellis and Vinia Pendley; first wife Esther (Kriete) Pendley; second wife Susie (Cole) Pendley; sisters Juanita Pendley, Mary Mitchell, Helen Rhinehart, and Christine Musgrave; and brothers Bill Pendley and Steve Pendley.

He is survived by his sons John Pendley Jr. (wife Marsha) and Jim Pendley (wife Jeanette); grandchildren Ami Noble (husband Aaron), Sarah Hughes (husband David), Paul Pendley (wife Glenna), Jerry Pendley, Jimmy Pendley (wife Katie), and Jessica Pendley; 10 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

A visitation for John will be held Friday, December 8, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home, 5005 SE 29th Street, Del City, OK 73115. A funeral service will occur Saturday, December 9, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Sunny Lane Cemetery in Del City, OK.
