His love for sports evolved at an early age, which led him into boxing. In 1954 he became the Light Feather Weight Champion and was awarded the Golden Gloves. In 1955 he met his soul mate and love of his life, Jean A. Estep, and in 1956 they were married. John enlisted in the United States Marine Corps at the age of 17, and four years later enlisted in the United States Air Force where he proudly served and defended our country for the next 20 years. During that time, he did one tour of duty in Korea and two tours in Vietnam, and was awarded the Purple Heart. John was an avid OU and OKC Thunder fan, black belt in Jiu-jitsu, and a champion crane machine operator (donating numerous stuffed animals to the Bethany Childrens Home and Nursing Homes).
John was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Raymond Wilson. Survivors include his loving wife of 57 years, Jean Ann Jordan; children, Connie Drinkard and husband Billy "Mike", John D. Jordan and wife Regina, Brenda Macias, Kathern Pizarro and husband Fernando; brothers, James "Jim" Jordan, Charles Ward; sister, Wanda Ward; grandchildren, Cheri Drinkard, John S. Jordan and wife Christina, Sandra and Krista Jordan, Adriana Ibarra and husband Marcos, Brandi, Brittania, Christian and Lizandro Pizarro, Jacqueline Macias, Juan-Marcos and Cassandra Rodriguez, Brittania and Xavier Villalobos; great-grandchildren, Alex and Julian Ibarra, Analissa, and Estefania Macias, Jessica and David Baltazar, Christopher and Timothy Drinkard, Aaron Williams, Brooklyn Drinkard, Ayden Jordan, Alysia Mackeigan and Delaney Jordan.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 26, 2013 at the Bill Eisenhour Southeast Funeral Home from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 27, 2013 at the Bill Eisenhour Southeast Chapel.
