He loved wearing his cowboy boots and hats, and was known for his pickin’ and grinnin’, making bon fires, bible reading, and being the comedian of the family. Everyone knew Joe’s heart belonged to the Lord. He loved his church and was honored to be a part of their prison ministry. He worked as a plumber alongside his friend and pastor, Mickey.
Joe was preceded in death by his brother, James Winfred Waddell. Survivors include his parents, Alfred Gerald and Barbara Jane (Mayo) Hulsey; siblings, Butch Rodgers (Barbara), Wendi Gregg (David), Laurie Henderson, Jerretta Taylor (Cary); and many nieces, nephews and a multitude of friends that will miss his smiling face and infectious personality dearly.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at the Preach Unto Them Jesus Christ Church, 2101 NW 16th Street, OKC, OK 73106.
