Jerry Dean Johnson

After being honorably discharged from the Army, he owned and ran his own Furniture Refinishing business for over 40 years. His pastimes included spending time with grandchildren and drinking coffee with friends at the Petro (Iron Skillet Diner).

Survived by his siblings Eliza Allen, Roosevelt and wife Daisy Johnson, Viola Doss, Veola Ramsey, Carrie Jean Roberson and Samual Johnson. Preceded in death are siblings Doretha Hunt, Seretha Johnson, Mildred Shaw, Sylvester Johnson and Mable Knight.

He was a father to 9 children: Teresa R. Johnson, Miranda Johnson, Sonja Johnson, Durwin Smiley, Elvira and husband Demetrious L. Sumlin, Stephanie Armstrong, and Stefan Johnson. Preceded in death are sons Larry Jacobs and Jerry Dean Johnson Jr. He has also left behind many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He will truly be missed!
