Janice Ramsey, a long time Del City resident took her wings and flew on Wednesday, March 8, 2017. Janice Carol Kimbrough Ramsey was born on September 27, 1943 to Bernie and Melba Kimbrough in Ada, Oklahoma.
Janice was a graduate of Del City High School and went on to attend Central State College. Janice owned and operated Jan’s Gifts and Cutlery for 40 years. She is survived by her husband Roger of 43 years. Daughter, Glendena Ramsey-Robles and husband Daniel Robles. Five grandchildren. Daniel III, Gabriella Brooks, Isabella Sofia, Annabella Bernice, and Magnum Francisco, and brother Tom Kimbrough. She is preceded in death by parents Bernie and Melba Kimbrough and sister-in-law LaNeese Kimbrough.
After retiring from the gift shop, Janice loved sewing and traveling to craft shows with Glendena and her granddaughters. Her free time could be spent with her grandchildren. Janice loved talking on the phone with her friends. She was known to give everyone the daily update on what her grandchildren were up to for the week. Janice never met a stranger and was always ready to strike up a conversation with anyone.
A graveside will service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 13, 2017 at the Sunny Lane Cemetery.
