James (Bob) Robert Tripp was born in Oklahoma City on October 26, 1954. He married his wife, Michele Tripp, on June 22, 1977. They have two loving children; Daniel Tripp and Stacey Tripp.
Bob graduated from the University of Oklahoma in August of 1980, with a degree in Electrical Engineering. After graduating, he went on to put in 40 years of service at Tinker Air Force Base, where he worked as a Software Engineer for the B-1 Software Program.
Bob was a wonderful and devoted father, husband, man of faith, and friend to many. Through the years, he enjoyed hosting friend and family get-togethers, grilling dinner for everyone; attending church and singing in the choir; mentoring kids through AWANA and youth; woodworking; singing and playing guitar on occasion; gardening and working out in the yard; and diligently working towards achieving that 40 years of service.
Bob’s free time was dedicated to his family, attending church, watching college football, and tending to his land. He loved taking annual family vacations and camping trips; cooking a big family breakfast for everyone on Saturday mornings; practicing soccer, basketball, and volleyball with his kids and cheering them on at their games; and teaching them how to fish, camp, and love nature.
Bob instilled strength, faith, and love into everything he did. His conviction was the guiding light for his family. He believed through faith and love for Jesus Christ that all things were possible. One of his favorite verses to quote was Philippians 4:13 – “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
Bob was preceded in death by his father, James B. Tripp; mother, Lola Mann; and step-father, Harold Mann. He is survived by his wife, Michele; two children, Daniel and Stacey; brother, Tony Tripp; and many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family.
