James C. Corley, 88, passed into the arms of Jesus on September 28, 2016, surrounded by his family. James was born to Torres and Clara Corley on August 2, 1928, in Vivian, OK, and learned the meaning of hard work while growing up in the family dairy business. After joining the U.S. Air Force, he met and married his lifelong sweetheart, Wanda, with whom he raised three sons and shared almost 67 years of an extraordinarily loving marriage. Following his service as a USAF weatherman, he worked as a quality engineer specialist at General Electric, Honeywell, and Magnetic Peripherals and retired from Tinker AFB. Preceded in death by his parents and infant twin brother, James is survived by his wife Wanda; sons Steve, Stan, and Stuart; daughters-in-law Dottie and Paula; eight grandchildren; four great-grandsons; sister Betty Scott; and brother and sister-in-law, Phillip and Elizabeth Corley. Family visitation will be held on Friday, September 30 from 6-8 pm at Sunny Lane Funeral Home, 4000 SE 29th St., Del City, with a funeral service on Saturday, October 1 at 2 pm at the funeral home. James was the very definition of a faithful, loving husband and father, a man who lived a life of self-sacrifice for the sake of his family. He was his sons’ teacher, mentor, and hero and will be sorely missed by his family. Please visit www.dignitymemorial.com.
