Born Nov 1, 1933 in Rocky, OK died peacefully at home surrounded by family on April 19th at 3:40pm. Jack was a lover of music. He taught himself to play guitar and piano. He played in several country bands and loved to play Willie Nelson songs. He loved to read old westerns and mystery novels. He also loved doing woodwork but especially loved spending time with his grandkids. He was a mason member – inactive 32nd Degree. He joined the Navy in 1952 and served for 30 years at which point he retired and as an E6 Petty Officer 1st Class. He worked for John Hancock Life Insurance in Virginia Beach, VA for several years. He moved to Wayne, Oklahoma where he worked as a custodian and bus driver for the Wayne Independent School System. He then went to work for the General Motors in 1979 and retired in 2006.He married LaWanda Kester on Oct 10, 1985 at which point a huge blended family began. He Is survived by LaWanda Kester, beloved wife of 34 years. Children; Larry Skinner and Maxine Wilburn, Laura Deckers, Sandra and Darryl Heintzelman, Lisa and Jet Jones, John and Stephanie Kiosterud, Robert and Traci Kiosterud, Rick Kiosterud, Charlie Sweeney, Karen Wojan, and Melinda Sweeney. Grandchildren; Alexandria Lopez, Nathaniel Lopez, Blake Heintzelman, Shelby Heintzelman, Alyssa Krieger, Travis Deckers, Beth Kiosterud, Grace Kiosterud, Lauren Kiosterud, Easton Kiosterud, Rick Kiosterud Jr, Jake Kiosterud, Austin Jones, Nolan Jones, Melissa Stephenson, Sean Ruark, Taylor Drees, Tiffany Sweeney, Charlie Sweeney Jr, Chris Sweeney, Nia Sweeney. Great-grandchildren; Sammy, Serenity, Shea and Sean Krieger and Eliott Lopez. Sister in law; Metha Kester. Nephew; Steve Kester. Nieces; Jenny Kester, Megan Massey, Amy Spahn and Beth Valdez. He is preceded in death by his parents Jack and Sallie Kester, his brothers, Dee Kester and Jim Kester and his grandson, Sean Fives. Celebration of life and burial service will be at 10:00am on April 27, 2019 at Sunny Lane Funeral Home and Cemetery, 4000 SE 29th Street, Del City, OK 73115. Celebration continues after services and burial at 9601 Bluewater Circle, OKC, OK 73165 with abundance of food, drinks and shared memories of an extra special Man, Husband, Father, Grand-father, Great Grand-father, Uncle, Brother-in-law, Friend and Neighbor!!
