Hubert was born on April 8th, 1946 in Dallas, TX. He was the first child of Hubert Everett Rogers Sr. and Charlottia (Ferguson) Rogers. The family moved to Oklahoma in 1952. He graduated from Midwest City High School in 1964. He retired from the Active Air Force Reserves in 2003 from the 507th Air Refueling Wing (formerly the 507th Fighter Group) after 33 years of faithful and devoted Federal Civilian Service with the United States Air Force. While stationed at Dyess AFB in Abilene, TX, he met his first wife Elaine (Hallmark) New and they married on July 19th, 1969 in Ballinger, TX. He spent some time working on his father in law’s dairy farm. Their son, Brad, was born in 1972. They settled down in Oklahoma City and had a house built (where Brad currently lives). Hubert always had a big heart for music. He played in a country band in his younger years where he traveled to Nashville and met Johnny Cash. He played the guitar, dobro, lap steel, and pedal steel guitar. Later in life, he even took several years of fiddle lessons. In 2004, he bought his retirement home on 20 acres in Newalla, OK, that he affectionately called, “the farm.” Hubert and Sharon married on October 3rd, 2009. At the farm, he spent countless hours with Sharon mowing and gardening. He also enjoyed mowing with his tractor or pulling trees to the burn pile. They had a german shepherd named Rudy that was the center of their world. He had so many unfinished projects because he always had to be busy. His son Brad made a comment, “If he had written out his To-Do list, his pen would have run out of ink.” Hubert had many hobbies in his life, from wood working, making jewelry, playing music, coin collecting and many more. He was a devoted Christian and was heavily involved at his home church, Franklin United Methodist Church, until it closed. Family was everything to him. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren grow up. He attended every event that he could, from choir concerts to sporting events. Hubert was an extraordinary son, brother, father, grandfather, uncle, friend. He will be deeply missed by everyone who loved him.
