Hank joined the Air Force in 1955 and became an aircraft mechanic, specializing in hydraulics maintenance. His military career took him to many places around the world, including Chanute AFB, IL where he met and married his wife of 62 years, Doris. He proudly served 22 years in the Air Force, including a tour in Vietnam, and honorably retired in 1977. He then moved his family to Oklahoma and worked Civil Service at Tinker AFB for 19 years before retiring again.
Hank was known for his quick wit, humor, and kindness. He made friends wherever he went. He loved his family and his country, and always defended both.
He is preceded in death by his wife Doris, children Jimmy and Victoria, his parents, and all siblings.
He is survived by son Douglas Ashley, daughter Susan Lightfoot, daughter Julie Plockot and husband Scot, and daughter Sandi Beaver and husband Jeff. Hank loved all 13 of his grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday, July 28 from 4pm-8pm at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home in Del City, OK. Funeral will be 10am Friday, July 29 at Arlington Memory Gardens, 3400 N. Midwest Blvd. in the mausoleum with military honors and placement at the grave to follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to your local VFW in Hank's honor.
