Evelyn Vera Brown, 88 year-old resident of Midwest City, Oklahoma, passed away June 23, 2016 in Midwest City, Oklahoma. Born March 10, 1928 in Gracemont, Oklahoma, she was the daughter of Robert F. and Grace Smith. Evelyn was a devoted homemaker. She loved cooking; baking; sewing; needlework; bingo; crossword and word games; and most of all she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents and 1 brother, Alvin Smith. Survivors include her husband Leon Brown of the home; 2 sons, Jerry and his wife Mishael Brown of Houston, Texas; and Don Brown of Phoenix, Arizona; 1 daughter, Judy and her husband Sherrill Starr of Choctaw, Oklahoma; 7 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at Bill Eisenhour Southeast Chapel, 5005 SE 29th St., Del City, Oklahoma 73115 with Pastor J. Dwight Burchett officiating. Burial will follow in Sunny Lane Cemetery, Del City, Oklahoma.
