There aren’t enough words to describe Eva. She was strong-willed, positive, upbeat, independent, directionally challenged, a bit stubborn at times, but above all, she cared about her friends and family.
To many, she was a sister, a mother, a wife, a friend, and grandmother, or more commonly known as “Ita”. Anyone who knew Eva knew she lit up the room when she walked in and you always knew when Eva arrived not only because she made it known, but because she was probably late.
She was always so full of life. Even in her later years, she always found a way to be active whether she was going on walks, dancing, or bowling in her league at Sunshine Lanes.
She took care of those around her and always made sure her children and grandchildren were well-fed. You just might have to help her grab the plates on the top shelf.
She always made time for family and her grandchildren, primarily by teaching them Spanish with the game Loteria and offering prizes from the dollar store.
She is survived by her husband Jack Gilmore; her four sisters and five brothers; her three children Evie (Tony) Reyes, Christy (Jared) Huish, and Donny (Sel) Bohanan; her seven grandchildren Ashley Hardin, Hailey Hardin, Britney Huish, John Bohanan, Jacob Huish, Dylan Huish, and Andrew Reyes and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her first husband, Larry Bohanan, her parents Socorro and Jesus Baquera, and her sister Emma Corona.
Eva lived a truly beautiful life, and everyone in it loved her more than words can describe. She will be missed forever.
