(1938-2021)
On Saturday, March 20, 2021 Ernest Victor Munoz at the age of 90, was called to heaven to be united again with His wife Ophelia. Ernest was born in Oklahoma City in 1938 to Katherine and Mike Muñoz. He served in the United States Marine Corps, and served in the Korean War. He worked at Wilsons Foods as a butcher for 28 years.
He is Preceded in death by his Mother Katherine Munõz (Garcia), Father Mike Munõz, Wife Ophelia Munõz (Bitseedy). Ernest and Ophelia have three children, Victor Munõz, Gayla R Munõz, and Terry (Munoz) Cummings and her husband Boyd Cummings all of Oklahoma City. Siblings Carol Dolph, Ike Munõz , Jimmy Munõz, Christopher Munõz, Sonny Munõz, Angie Parton, and Agnes Zamora. Grandchildren Danny Munõz and LaCinda Munõz and One great grandchild Orion Siemers, and several nieces and nephews.
Ernest loved donuts, coffee, fishing, the Dallas Cowboys and the Marines. He was a member of the Oklahoma City Chapter of the Chosin Few First Marine Division named for their service in the Battle of Chosin Reservoir in the Korean War. They and their families would gather, eat and tell stories of their families, exploits and catch up on the news. Ernest and Ophelia were members of Central Baptist Church, in Oklahoma City where he was baptized into the Faith. He loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and his family.
Ernest will be laid to rest by his Wife Ophelia at the Sunny Lane Cemetery in Del City, Oklahoma.
Visitation will be on Friday, March 26, 2021 from 4 to 8pm at the Sunny Lane Funeral Home. Graveside Service will be Saturday, March 27, 2021 at 10 a.m. at the Sunny Lane Cemetery.
Reverend Leon Postoak will be Officiating.
