She graduated from Nuyaka High School in 1941, attended and graduated Draughon Business School in Tulsa Oklahoma. Ella lived in Seminole, Ok in 1943 and 1944 while working at Tinker Field aka Tinker AFB. Ella married William (Bill) Hancock in 1946 in Seminole Oklahoma and became a homemaker and mother. After her children became school age she was active in the Mid-Del School system PTA, and was very active attending all of her children’s school and sporting events.
She worked for the Oklahoma election board during local and state election and in later years she and Bill worked for the Oklahoma Cowboy Hall of Fame. Ella played on her High School Basketball team and was considered in those days to be a very accomplish female athlete. She always enjoyed Bowling with her husband on Bowling leagues, playing cards and board games, traveling with family and friends. Ella was also an avid gardener and loved cooking and canning fresh vegetables she grew in her garden.
Ella was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband of 56 years, William Calvin Hancock; daughter Nita Jo (Hancock) Moore; siblings, Beatrice L. (Foreman) Gerleman, J.D. Harold (Son) Foreman, Wayne M. Foreman, Jerry Eugene (Gene) Foreman and Jera Lea (Foreman) Melton. Survivors include her children, Robert Jerry Hancock, William Lee Hancock (Lisa), Paula (Hancock) Dowling (David); grandchildren, Aaron Hancock, Matt Hancock (Christina), Dustin Moore (Alicia), Dallas Moore (Marie), Heather (Hancock) Blackburn (Craig), Jennifer (Hancock) Bellina (Joey), Auston Dowling (Dior), Casey Dowling; great-grandchildren, Genesis Hancock, Alexus Hancock, Kenadie Hancock, Greyson Moore, Landon Moore, Braydon Moore, Alice Moore, Samuel Moore, Juliana Bellina, and Hartlee Dowling; siblings, Sanford Foreman (Juanita); many nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews.
Earth got a little worse, and Heaven just got a little better having her. A funeral service will be held on 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at the Bill Eisenhour Southeast Chapel. Interment will follow at Arlington Memory Gardens.
