Dorothy Esther (Smith) Yost, 82, of Newalla, OK died peacefully Friday, May 22, 2015, surrounded by her family. She was born June 29, 1932 in Cleveland, OH to Earl and Esther (Nelson) Turner. She attended both Oklahoma State University and University of Oklahoma. Dorothy’s nursing career began at OU Medical Center and she later retired from Cushing Hospital at age 81. She earned her Master’s Degree in Nursing at OU.
Dorothy was passionate about traveling the world and made it to six continents, as well as quilting and gardening.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Esther (Nelson) Turner; her husband, Chester Smith; sister, Marilyn Smith. Dorothy leaves to cherish her memories her children, Diane (David) Hampton, Bruce Smith, Robert (Linda) Smith; siblings, Donald Turner, Vinola (Robert) Smith, Donna Smith, Joanne (Robert) Fordyce, Evelyn Turner; 8 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and a host of relatives and friends.
