Dennis Day Ray

Dennis Day Ray, 76, passed away on May 22, 2018. Dennis was born on August 26, 1941 in Wright City, OK to Benjamin Wilson and Hazel Frances (Gaskey) Ray. Dennis received his Master’s Degree, in education, from Central State University and went on to be an educator for the Mid-Del Public School System for 25+ years. While there he coached basketball, football, baseball, track, and wrestling. Dennis was a kind and loving person who never met a stranger. He loved his family very much and was always there for his children’s and grandchildren’s events. Dennis was always thinking about the future whether it was planning ahead or dreaming about what’s next. Dennis is preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his children, Kimberly Martens and husband Mike, and Traci Joiner and husband Randy; grandchildren, Kylie Ray Lindsey and husband Chase, Joshua Joiner, William Decker Franks, and Benjamin Caleb Frank; step-grandson, Derik Asmus; and many other family members who will miss him dearly. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 25, 2018 at Bill Eisenhour Southeast Chapel.
