Clarence Earl Hood “Cotton Top” was born on March 21, 1947 in Oklahoma City, Okla. to Clarence Dire Hood and Mildred Bertha Hunsucker Hood. Clarence was called home by his Lord and Savior on January 7, 2024 in Okla. City, OK at the age 76 years old.
Clarence attended Central High School and then he joined the Navy on January 7, 1965, he was aboard the USS Fort Marion “LSD22” during the Viet Nam War and was honorably discharged on January 2, 1967 with a Viet Nam Service Medal and a National Defense Service Medal.
Clarence loved hunting & fishing with his son Anthony and brother- in- law Jimmy and he also loved Football, Baseball and all kinds of sports.
In 2009 Clarence went to Okla. City Community College and graduated with a GED. Clarence worked out at Tinker Field Air Force as a heavy equipment mechanic for 26 years and finally retired from Hobby Lobby as a truck driver in 2012 and he really enjoyed being retired.
Clarence was preceded in death by his dad Clarence D. Hood, mother Mildred B. Hood, and his daughter Catherine “Cindy” Hood.
Clarence is survived by his wife of 47 years and 8 months, Jeanne Denise Brewington Hood, 1 son Anthony Earl Hood, 1 grandson Gage A. Hood of Portland, OR., 1 brother Richard Hood and wife Linda Hood of Sulphur, Okla., 1 sister Mary Readnour and partner Paul Spiel of Florida, and many nieces, nephews, family and friends that he loved dearly.
Clarence will truly be missed!
