Christine JoAnn Byers

Christine JoAnn Byers, 75 of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, went to be with the Lord on January 14, 2014. Christine was born to George and May Byers in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on May 6, 1938. She was eight of nine children in her family. She grew up on a farm with five brothers and three sisters with plenty to do.

She married January 14, 1958 to Arthur J. Rankin and had 4 wonderful children. Although she worked numerous jobs, her greatest achievement was raising her children; Robert, Teresa, Charlotte, and Rebecca. She enjoyed dancing, sewing, reading, collecting dolls and cooking.

Christine was preceded in death by her parents, infant daughter Charlotte; daughter, Rebecca Lynn Merrick Rankin; three brothers, Arthur Daniel Byers, Lee Roy Anderson Byers, and Donald Lee Byers; three sisters, Reba Helen Byers, Barbara Jean Byers, and Marie Francis Byers.

She leaves to cherish her memories; son, Robert John Rankin and wife Jiraporn of Iowa Park, Texas; daughter, Teresa Ann McMahon and husband Thomas of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; two brothers, Marion Bell Byers and Gerald Jerry Byers and wife Junie of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; six grandchildren, Michael F. McMahon, Tiffany N. Kreuzberg, Chelsea R. Merrick, Alicia I. Merrick, Hilary C. Rankin, Zackary J. Rankin; a great-grandchild, Lily MayLynn Kreuzberg; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She will be truly missed.
