Bobby Jo Shelton passed away peacefully into the hands of God on March 12, 2010 at Settlers Ridge Care Center in Celina, TX at the age of 81 years. She was born April 21, 1928 at home in Arnett, OK to Bud and Oceola Stuckey. Her early years were spent in the Arnett area and she graduated from Arnett High School. On February 16, 1946, she united in marriage with John Tom Shelton. Their early years of marriage were spent in northwest Oklahoma, Caldwell, Idaho, Pampa, Texas and in 1959 they moved to Del City, OK. Tom and Bobby Jo were married for 58 years until Tom’s passing in 2004. In November 2008 she moved to Sherman, Texas due to health reasons. She enjoyed crafts, especially quilting and crocheting. It gave her great pleasure to share the works of her labor with family and friends. She was a member of Sunnylane United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. She is survived by her daughter, Evelyn Ross and husband, Bill, of Howe, TX; her son, John Shelton and wife, Sharon, of OKC; grandchildren: Kyle and Sharon Ross of Bryan, TX, Kathy and Paul Cavender of Van Alstyne, TX, Melissa and Martin Goldstein of Denver, CO, Alisha and Kevin Dunnington of OKC; plus seven great-grandchildren: Ruby and Sarah Ross, Zack Cavender, Avery and Rory Goldstein, and Henry and George Dunnington; and a large extended family including her brothers: Jack Stuckey of Edmond, OK, Don Stuckey of Roaring Springs, TX and a sister, Bernice Young of Albuquerque, NM. She is preceded in death by her husband, Tom; and two brothers: David and E.F. Stuckey. We wish to thank the staff of both Settlers Ridge Care Center and Heart to Heart Hospice for their excellent care and support. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Settlers Ridge Care Center, 1280 Settlers Ridge Rd., Celina, TX 75009 or your favorite charity. Visitation will be 1pm to 9pm Sunday, March 14, 2010 at Bill Eisenhour Southeast Chapel. A celebration of her life will be 11:00 am, Monday, March 15, 2010 at Bill Eisenhour Southeast Chapel with interment to follow at Sunny Lane Cemetery in Del City, OK.
