Billy Don Trueblood of Del City passed away on October 11, 2022 at the age of 89. He was born on November 5, 1932 in Enid, OK to Elisha and Thelma Trueblood. He graduated from McAlester High School in 1949, and after went straight into the US Air National Guard. He then joined the US Navy, where he served in the Korean War. After the war, he met and married Wanda M. Blevins in 1955. Then he joined the US Air Force Reserves, where he retired after 35 years as a Chief Master Sergeant. He then went to work for Tinker AFB and did quality assurance work on B-52’s; he retired from Tinker after 35+years.
Bill and Wanda were together for 56 wonderful years until her passing. Together they raised four children in Del City. Bill and Wanda enjoyed gardening together, planting flowers and vegetables, and also loved watching and feeding the birds in their backyard. When their children were young, they would take many family trips where they would enjoy camping and fishing. Bill was a great cook, and enjoyed cooking meals for all the family holidays. He loved to do crossword puzzles, solitaire, reading, and learning about computers. Bill spent the last 10 years married to Una Spain. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Elisha and Thelma Trueblood; wife, Wanda M. Trueblood; son Steven W. Trueblood; great-grandson Dawson Stiver; sister Lois Reed; and mother-in-law Marie Blevins.
He is survived by his children, Paula Phillips (husband Aaron), Shelly Taylor (husband Darin), and Jimmy R. Trueblood; daughter-in-law Regina Trueblood; grandchildren, Darrel Stiver (wife Casey), Jayson Stiver, Adam Trueblood, Ross Trueblood, Ryan Taylor (wife Ashley), and Brooke Taylor (partner Tony Bernal); great-grandchildren, Dylan Stiver, Hannah Stiver, Devon Stiver, Garrett Ferrell, Tori Trueblood, Sidney Trueblood, Tristan Trueblood, and Tyson Trueblood; wife Una Spain; and a host of other family and friends.
