Billie Ima Jean “Jean” Welty, 81 year-old resident of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, passed away June 28, 2014 in Oklahoma City, OK. Born July 21, 1932 in Hennipen, Oklahoma, she was the daughter of Benjamin Franklin Martin and Della Jane (Lee) Martin. Jean loved doing word games especially word find and crosswords. She loved her Cedar Blue place on Lake of the Arbuckles and enjoyed watching RFD, especially Larry’s Diner and Monty Stewart. She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 Husbands, Robert Tate; Donald Clements; and Jesse O. Welty; 2 sons, Ronald Edward Tate and Bobby Floyd Tate; and grandchildren, Lynetta and J.J. Tate. Survivors include 3 sons, James Franklin Tate of Del City, OK; Cecil Charles Clements of Oklahoma City, OK; and Donald Ray Clements of Brainerd, MN; 2 daughters, Patsy J. and her husband Gerald Welty of Oklahoma City, OK; and Tama and her husband Michael Kittel of Del City, OK; 15 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; 4 sisters, Nora Welty of Wynnewood, OK: Noma Hicks of Yukon, OK; Mary Waite of Okmulgee, OK; and Rita Marlene Martin of Checotah, OK; 3 brothers, Johnny Martin of Buffalo, MO; Jackie Dean Martin of Bach Springs, Texas; and Tommy Ray Martin of Josephine, Texas; and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at Bill Eisenhour Southeast Chapel, 5005 SE 29th St., Del City, OK, 73115 with burial to follow at Arlington Memory Gardens, Midwest City, Oklahoma.
