Betty Jean Tilson

Betty Jean Tilson, age 78, passed away December 15, 2012 in Del City, Oklahoma. She was born October 12, 1934 in Edmond, Oklahoma to her father Walter L. Barber and mother Opal Irene (Grant) Barber. She was a cook for the Mid-Del school district for 30 years. She was a strong Christian woman and attended Del View Baptist Church. She loved cooking for all of her family; especially her chocolate sheet cake and the green stuff! Betty also enjoyed gardening, taking care of her plants and flowers which made her happy. Betty loved having her grandchildren over to the house and always had great fun. Christmas was always a wonderful gathering for the Tilson home. Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Ellis Tilson; mother Irene Barber and father Walter Barber. She is survived by her son Steven M. Tilson (Nancy) of Midwest City, Oklahoma; daughters Vickie Lewis (Beau Johnson) and Kathleen Simms (Beau). She is also survived by two sisters Sharon McCutheon and Daisy Anthony; seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. “We will miss her a lot…but, God and His angels need a turn with her now…”
