Bertha Elizabeth Truman passed away on August 7, 2016 at the age of 76. She was born to Francis (Stotts) and Benjamin Livingston on April 1, 1940 in Elmore City, Oklahoma.
Bertha’s true passion in life was caring for others. She never turned anyone away from her home. She was loved by all who knew her, and her compassionate soul earned her the heartfelt nickname “Momo Bert” from those in her community. Although Bertha took pride in her manicured nails and impeccable hairstyle, she wasn’t afraid to get her hands dirty while fishing or camping at Lake Eufaula. She could often be found watching John Wayne movies or solving mysteries with Andy Griffith on Matlock.
Bertha is survived by her children, Elizabeth “Barri” Coss and husband Michael, Bernie “Butch” Truman and wife Cynthia, Michael Truman and wife Patricia “Kay”, and Charles Truman; siblings Charles Livingston, Glenda Reynolds, and Norma Messenger; 7 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren and one on the way. She is also survived by a host of family and adopted family members. Bertha is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Bernie David Truman, Sr.
