I wanted so much for you to be whole mom. To get up and go shopping or go to heaven to be with grandma, Grandpa, Peter, Mark, etc.  So heaven it was. Miss you mom. Thank you for the gifts you left me. Strength, preserverance and intellect.

In Remembrance of my dear elementary school chum, I extend my deepest sympathy to her family near and far.

I wish you to know that Mercedes and I enjoyed many moments of sheer joy as we accompanied each other to school every day.  For the most part, we RAN, for fear of being late; at other times, we skipped and jumped hopscotch.  Whatever we did, however, we enjoyed to the fullest. 
 
One day we stood back_to_back in the playground, in an attempt to defend ourselves from the zany antics of brothers who took pleasure inflicting unwelcome physical advances against the girls. Moments like that for an only child made me feel I had a sister to back me up. 

I fully expected Mercedes to become a well known singer.  She had a beautiful voice, as one of you has already mentioned.  I was disappointed that she didn
