Priscilla was born on May 28, 1920, in Natick, Massachusetts, to the late Michael and Mary (Brennan) McKeon. One of her favorite childhood memories was of the summers spent on Long Beach in Rockport while growing up in Natick. Other favorite memories were of the apple orchard behind her house and playing with her friends, the Howard twins. She attended all Natick schools and graduated from Natick High School in 1938. She then went on to attend Bryant and Stratton business school in Boston. On May 23, 1949, she married Thomas (Tom) Brown, originally from Maine, after meeting at Spear & Staff where they were both employed. They lived in Massachusetts for many years before moving to Florida where they celebrated 50 wonderful years of marriage in 1999 before Tom’s passing in 2000. Although she lived in Florida for over 25 years, she never lost her love for her hometown of Natick and looked back on it fondly.
Priscilla leaves behind five children, Carol Bartello and her husband Len, Kathy D’Oyley and Harry, Chrissy Casaubon and Denis, Tom Brown and his wife Tammy, and Kevin Brown; seven grandchildren, Danielle D’Oyley, Lisa Zughni, Jared Brown, Caitlyn Baron, Courtney Brown, Nick Casaubon, Cassie Casaubon; and a cherished great granddaughter, Leila Zughni, who she was thrilled to meet in March. She was preceded in death by her son David (at birth) and her siblings, beloved Robert McKeon, Richard McKeon, and Janet Forrester.
Priscilla loved to laugh and attributed her longevity to taking vitamins in the morning and having a glass of wine at happy hour. Always the life of the party, her zest for life and interest in everyone around her will be greatly missed. She loved hearing about her grandchildren and keeping up with their accomplishments and seeing pictures of baby Leila. She was a beloved daughter, a devoted sister and sister-in-law, and a caring mother who was a wonderful companion throughout the years. Her grandkids felt lucky to have had a grandmother who was so much fun to be with.
Her family would like to express love and thanks to her caregivers at Rockwell Senior Assisted Living Facility for their wonderful help and incredible care. They were amazing. And to everyone who took time to keep in touch with calls, cards, and visits, thank you. It always made her day.
A private memorial service will be held in October.
